There
are as many types of runners as there
are rugs. Selecting the right one
for your home may simply mean knowing
the right terminology.
Runners come in predetermined lengths
offered by a manufacturer. These rugs
are finished on both ends and have
a border that goes continuously around
the perimeter of the runner –
just like a rug. Stair runners are
a continuous roll and can be cut to
any length as determined by the consumer.
These runners are used for stairs
or can be used to make a custom length
runner for a hallway or other area.
These runners are not bordered on
all sides. They are typically bordered
on each side and the ends are cut
and fringe applied with no border.
The stair runners would be the same
way with no fringe. The ends would
stop at the top and bottom step.
